In the next couple of posts, I’m going to start on something that has become one of the most important things on the Internet today, article writing.

There is a reason why Ezine Articles, as of this writing, has an Alexa rank of 147.  I’d only be guessing at how many articles get submitted to them each day.

It must be more than they can handle because my articles are now supposed to be approved in 24 hours and I have some out there that are waiting for approval now for 3 days.

They must be swamped.

Yes, everybody and their grandmother is getting into article writing…

But for article marketing to be REALLY effective …

You NEED To KNOW How
To Write A GOOD Article!

Unfortunately, not everybody knows HOW to write an article that’s going to get people to their site.

This series will give you a few tips plus give you a list of sites where you can submit.

Article Writing Tip #1

The first thing you need to learn about writing articles is that you MUST write articles on topics that people will want to read.

How can you find out what topics people are interested in?

Very simple.

What you do is go to one of the online keyword tools.

Here’s the URL for the free Wordtracker (gives daily search results).

http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/

Here’s the URL for the Google Adwords tool (gives monthly search results).

http://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

What you do is type in the topic you want to write on.

For example, “Affiliate Marketing”

If I do this in wordtracker, I come up with 352 daily searches for affiliate marketing.

This is good.

This shows me that people are looking for information on affiliate marketing.

If you do a search and find there are no results for that topic, there is no point in writing on it because nobody will be searching for your article and thus nobody will end up going to your site.

So this is the first place you have to start.

Confine your writing to things that people are interested in.

Otherwise, you’re just wasting your time.

Today, I want to talk about article titles.

This is so key to getting your article read.

Lackluster titles will be overlooked.  Exciting titles will get your article read.

What Makes An Exciting Title?

First, let’s give you a few examples of what a dull title is.

Imagine you’re writing an article on acne and a natural cure for acne.  A dull title might be something like…

“A Natural Cure For Acne”

(Okay, let me qualify this just a bit.  If somebody is specifically looking for a natural cure for acne and this is the only article they find, sure, they’re going to read it.  It directly speaks to what they need. )

So while this is a dull title, it can be effective if you have a captive audience.

But what if somebody goes to the search engines and finds 10 articles with that same title?

Unless yours appears at the very top, there is little chance that it’s going to get read as they’ll all blend in with the crowd.

However, if out of those first 10 results, somebody sees a title like this…

“Get Rid of YOUR Acne for Good… NATURALLY!”

Don’t you think that somebody is going to be more likely to read this article?

When writing articles, you have to think like a marketer and NOT like an author, at least when it comes to the title … because THAT is how you get people to read the article in the first place.

Let’s take another example.

Say you’re writing an article on article writing to promote your site and you come up with a title like this…

“Article Marketing To Promote Your Business”

It’s not bad, but it certainly doesn’t excite the heck out of me.

But what if you tried something like this?

“Use Article Marketing To EXPLODE Your Business, FREE!”

Much better.

So when you’re writing the titles for your articles, think like a marketer first and an author last.

- Look at newspaper headlines for ones that make YOU want to read.  Pay attention to magazines like “National Enquirer” – Sure the articles are probably junk and full of B.S. but the headlines are always eye-catching and engaging!

- Look at top stories on Digg.com and see what kind of headline are used there too.  Top stories are there because lots of people read them – and the headline is one of the first things that will make a person decide to keep reading.

I recently received a comment on a blog post from one of my readers, Peter Allard, that really resonated with me and I wanted to share it with you.

In the comment, Peter was referring to the upcoming birth of our son and some important components of becoming a good father.

However, I also felt that there were some valuable lessons that also very much tied into marketing.

Here’s the original comment:

Father’s day is almost here! As a signwriter by trade I often think a good sign is like a good Father.

1. It has to be there. No one benefits from from an absent sign and no family benefits from the absent Father input that sadly is at epidemic levels in today’s society. All praise to the single Mothers and the good work they perform.

2. It has to be legible. It can be chalk on a blackboard but you must be able to read it. The same is true of a “Flash” Father who might dress to kill
but is never presenting a clear message to his children.

3. It has to be pointing in the right direction. I have seen many daily now open “A” signs carelessly placed on foot paths with the arrows pointing across the street instead of to the front door!

Be there. Bring a clear message. Be pointing in the right direction this and many more Father’s days to come!

The part that really struck me was #3 – you have to be pointing in the right direction.

You have to know where you want to go, and what path you want to take to get there.

It’s no good if you’re running around aimlessly without any direction.

I think this is just as true for marketing as it is for parenthood too.

One thing I notice online is that so many people are being pulled in different directions, always looking towards the “next big thing”.

They try so many different things, but they never really stop and work at just one thing that could actually bring them results.

And what happens?

They’re no financially better off than when they started, and if anything they just end up more confused and overwhelmed.

Direction and focus are critically important in marketing and something you need to work at, but the rewards are great when you do.

I’m not perfect, and I struggle with these very same things at times, but when I do focus, that’s when I’m most productive and that’s when I make money.

Back in 2008 I bought Product Launch Formula (the 2.0 version) from Jeff Walker after seeing the kinds of results that not only Jeff was getting, but also that his students were getting.

Needless to say I’m a huge fan of Jeff and his PLF course as it’s one of those courses that actually delivers on it’s promises (providing you’re willing to put in the effort to follow the steps).

With the latest release of the 2016 version of his product launch formula imminent, I’ll be putting together a more in-depth review and also a bonus package of some complimentary products that I think will really help get the best out of the PLF package.

Stefan James is getting ready to release his Affiliate Marketing Mastery course towards the end of 2016.

Most famous for his ProjectLifeMastery blog and YouTube channel, Stefan has also created several other successful courses and software products, with one of the most popular being his kindle marketing course. (I bought this myself and love it)

In the next couple of posts, I’m going to start on something that has become one of the most important things on the Internet today, article writing.

There is a reason why Ezine Articles, as of this writing, has an Alexa rank of 147.  I’d only be guessing at how many articles get submitted to them each day.

It must be more than they can handle because my articles are now supposed to be approved in 24 hours and I have some out there that are waiting for approval now for 3 days.

They must be swamped.

Yes, everybody and their grandmother is getting into article writing…

But for article marketing to be REALLY effective …

You NEED To KNOW How
To Write A GOOD Article!

Unfortunately, not everybody knows HOW to write an article that’s going to get people to their site.

This series will give you a few tips plus give you a list of sites where you can submit.

Article Writing Tip #1

The first thing you need to learn about writing articles is that you MUST write articles on topics that people will want to read.

How can you find out what topics people are interested in?

Very simple.

What you do is go to one of the online keyword tools.

Here’s the URL for the free Wordtracker (gives daily search results).

http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/

Here’s the URL for the Google Adwords tool (gives monthly search results).

http://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

What you do is type in the topic you want to write on.

For example, “Affiliate Marketing”

If I do this in wordtracker, I come up with 352 daily searches for affiliate marketing.

This is good.

This shows me that people are looking for information on affiliate marketing.

If you do a search and find there are no results for that topic, there is no point in writing on it because nobody will be searching for your article and thus nobody will end up going to your site.

So this is the first place you have to start.

Confine your writing to things that people are interested in.

Otherwise, you’re just wasting your time.

One of the things that I get from a lot of my readers is that they really need help getting over the basics of internet marketing. So before I start, I need to know that people will put it into use if I spend the time to create it.

2) I’ll give you access to sign up and earn $50 commissions on it.

3) I’ll create a high-impact squeeze page for you to promote it (and build your very own list too)

4) I’ll create a follow up email series to make you more sales of this product.

5) I’ll add additional email promotions for other high-converting products too.

6) I may even create a series of articles you can use to submit to different directories.

So, what I’m giving you here is a complete sales package to get you started with a REAL profitable internet business. By using this you’ll get to build a list of targeted prospects and generate affiliate sales from multiple products.
